I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to open up another 10-day Dutch Oven Cooking School this summer!
If you’ve ever wanted to master the art of cast iron cooking, whether for personal use, homesteading, or even a career in backcountry cooking, this is your chance.
My passion for Dutch oven cooking started decades ago, deep in the wilderness camps of Wyoming where I learned to cook hearty meals over an open fire.
Now, I get to share that knowledge with others—keeping this primitive skill alive for generations to come.
This 10-day immersive class isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ll spend long days working alongside experienced backcountry camp cooks, learning everything from seasoning and caring for cast iron to preparing camp-style meals for a crew.
You’ll cook over fire, charcoal, and propane—because out in the wilderness, you never know what conditions you'll face! By the time you leave, you’ll have the confidence and skillset to cook anywhere, whether it’s in a hunting camp, a fly-in lodge, or your own backyard.

I’m also looking to collaborate with other seasonal workers, guides, and outfitters who might want to run their own specialized classes at the same time. Imagine a Packing Class, Guide School, Wrangler Training, or Campjack Workshop running alongside my Dutch Oven Cooking School—with my students preparing all the meals for yours!
