Refund Policy
At Dutch Oven Outfitters, we are committed to providing a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience in hunting camp cook schools, backcountry cooking, and wilderness lodge cooking.
Preparing for each course requires extensive planning, from securing resources to scheduling instructors, ensuring each student gets the most out of their training.
Because of this, our refund policy reflects the non-recoverable costs incurred when students cancel, withdraw, or fail to attend.

Deposit & Cancellation Policy
To secure your spot in our Dutch Oven Outfitters CookSschool, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of enrollment. This deposit helps cover:
✔ Course preparation, including securing lodging, food, and instructional materials
✔ Reserving limited class space in our small-group, hands-on training program
✔ Advance planning for instructors, gear, and supplies

A full refund of the deposit will only be issued under the following circumstances:
✅ The applicant is not accepted into the program
✅ The course is full at the time of application
✅ The course is canceled by the school
These are the only conditions under which a deposit is refunded.
No Refund Policy for Early Withdrawal, Dismissal, or
No-Show
Once a student is enrolled and the course begins, all tuition, fees, and deposits become non-refundable and non-transferable. This applies to cases of:
🚫 Sickness or medical withdrawal
🚫 Dismissal from the course due to conduct violations
🚫 Voluntary withdrawal for any reason
🚫 Failure to attend (no-show)
Our program requires advance investments in supplies, food, lodging, and instructor time, making refunds for last-minute cancellations or dropouts impossible.
Why Are Payments
Non-Refundable?
As a small business providing specialized, hands-on training, we prepare well in advance for each student. Your tuition helps cover:
✔ Securing accommodations at The Chicory House BnB
✔ Purchasing food & supplies for wilderness and lodge cooking lessons
✔ Reserving instructor time and ensuring an optimal student-to-instructor ratio
✔ Maintaining camp equipment for hands-on backcountry training
When a student cancels, it is not possible to fill that spot on short notice, and the preparation costs have already been incurred.
Understanding the Commitment
Before enrolling, please ensure you are fully committed to the program dates and requirements. This is an intensive, immersive experience designed for those serious about learning the craft of backcountry and lodge cooking.
If you have any questions about the course, expectations, or policies, we encourage you to reach out before enrolling.
